🚀 Exciting Secondment News from the CONTRABASS Network!

We’re happy to share that Jeswin Jiji (DC3) has recently started his secondment at the Institute of Geological Sciences Uni Bern, under the supervision of Professor Sergey Churakov 🇨🇭🔬.

This secondment is focused on atomistic simulations to study the leaching of calcium and silicate during C–S–H dissolution.

🔍 In the first phase, Jeswin will learn and apply advanced simulation methods such as Ab initio molecular dynamics and Metadynamics, using CP2K as the main simulation software. He’ll also perform initial simulations to generate data.

🧪 In the second phase, he’ll dive into post-processing and analysis of simulation results to support the broader goals of the CONTRABASS project.
