📢 CONTRABASS Secondment Update!

Wet or semi-wet carbonation of recycled cement paste? ♻️🧪

As part of his PhD within CONTRABASS, Sumesh Erikandath (DCUK10) initially focused on wet carbonation and separation of waste cement paste at Imperial College London, working alongside Hong S. Wong and Christopher Cheeseman

Now, during his secondment at @Holcim Innovation Center (HIC), France, Sumesh is shifting gears to study semi-wet carbonation of hydrated cement paste derived from commercial blended cements. His research will investigate carbonation kinetics based on various process variables and reaction times—a key step toward scalable CO₂ mineralisation solutions for recycled cementitious systems. 🌍⚙️
