Hegoi Manzano
Hegoi Manzano obtained his Degree in Physical Chemistry in 2005 at the University of the Basque Country UPV/EHU. He did an industrial PhD in TECNALIA and got the PhD in Chemistry from the UPV/EHU in 2010, with a thesis on “atomistic modelling of cement-related materials”. He moved to MIT in 2010, for 2 years as a postdoc, working on reactive force field development and its application to cementitious materials. In 2012 he moved back to Spain and occupied several postdoctoral research positions until 2015. Then, he obtained a position as Assistant Professor at the Physics Department of the UPV/EHU, where he continued as Permanent Professor. He is author of >80 papers in international journals, with h-index 32, and leads a team focused on “atomic and mesoscale modelling of cement-related materials”. He is part of the Transnational Common Laboratory “Aquitaine-Euskadi Network in Green Concrete and Cement-based Materials” (LTC-Green Concrete) and scientific editor in Cement and Concrete Research since 2022. At the UPV/EHU he teaches Experimental Techniques in Physics and Statistical Physics.
